Was rough day today for the kids. Daniel made first in cruiser but came unclipped in the second round of class costing him the transfer.

Selene was leading the pack on her second round but caught a soft spot in the third turn causing her to lose control and have to bail off the bike. This put her too far behind to catch the transfer.

Some shots of Saturday’s race at Can-Am BMX Track thanks to Laila Brown's photography. Daniel ended up with 2nd place in both class and cruiser. Selene fought hard in her new intermediate class but couldn’t make the mains. Mom came in forth. All in all it was a great day of racing and the weather finally cooperated.

Big Weekend for the Factory flannel team. Kids and Tiff were on fire at our home track Can-Am BMX Track. Tiff fought hard against her class of 15-16 girls cruiser. She made mains but was unable to make a spot on the podium in the main race.

Daniel raced cruiser and class and was able to pull 1st place in mains on both.

Big deal of the day was Selene. She pulled off another win today which happened to be her tenth and finl win as a novice. Next week she will begin her racing journey in the Intermediate class.

Thanks to everyone who helped cheer us on. Was a fun day of racing. Next big race for us will be our home State Qualifier in a few weeks.

Flannel family has been quiet this year sticking mostly to locals. We wanted to get in some gold cup quals this year tho. The rain scared us away from Wolfe creek a couple weeks ago unfortunately; so this is our first gold cup. The crew did well against some fierce competition at Toledo Speedway BMX Track. They have some fast riders.

Everyone made their mains with Selene pulling a first place in class, Daniel took 2nd in cruiser and 4th in class. Mom took fifth over all.

Everyone is ready and pumped for the next gold cup at Can-Am BMX Track next Sunday the 30th.

2023 Richfield Park BMX State Qual.

Impromptu trip to Richfield payed off. Selene pulled off a first place in 10 novice. Daniel took second in cruiser and third in 14 expert. (Daniel rocking his Can-Am BMX Track Jersey. Still waiting for their New Jerseys to show up. Kids need to stop growing). Mom got third in her first state race.

Taking a break this year from the state series for most part this year, but will be trying other races if possible.

Couple extra photos from last night. “Wild child” made a showing last night. Always a joy to see little Haley race her strider down the track. We just need her big sister Riley to start racing.

Big night last night at Can-Am BMX Track. Daniel “Monster” Mentzer completed his 20th intermediate win and moved up to 14 expert class. He’s done well this year considering his competition is fierce. Proud of you monster.

Pic in blue helmet was one of his first times at the track.

Selene came in fourth as well. She makes it hard for the boys to win.

Congrats to Collin with Ssquared Michigan BMX Race Team on his move up to expert as well.

Thanks to Curt and Lisa for dumping your heart and soul into the track for everyone.

A other year of state racing in the bag. Daniel He had some good competition today. In class he made the transfer on the first race. On the main he got pinched a few times that cause him get pushed back. His state overall standings for the year are 4th in cruiser and 7th in class.

Trivia: Daniels 14th birthday is Wednesday. He is also sitting on 19 wins. Which means if he wins one more race before the season is over, he will move up to expert class.

Selene didn’t make the first transfer but she came out like fire on the second heat. She was in first towing the boys around the track but she dug in too deep on the fist turn and caught her pedal on the hill. She recovered the near wipe out amazingly fast and only dropped to third place before coming back and taking second for the main event transfer. She finished with the state number nine plate overall. She’s super excited to win a plate this year.

Videos will be in the comments. Won’t let me load both.
