Unfortunately, tomorrow's game against Wyandotte Stars Vintage Base Ball Club has been canceled. While we never like to miss an opportunity to play, it is ultimately more important to spend time with family so from all of the Frogs - have a wonderful Father's Day! Light the grill, enjoy a cold one of your choosing, and maybe watch the professionals play ball instead!

The Frogs are off until the 4th of the July when some of us will be participating in the All Comer's Match in Wyandotte - see you all there!

Please come join the Frogs as we take on the Pemberville Nine on Sunday June 7th at 1:00pm at Pemberville Memorial Park (near the American Legion Post 183). The weather is looking to be great, Pemberville looks like they've compiled a worthy team, so come join us for fun, history, and watch baseball the way it was meant to be played!

If you've ever considered playing, please join us and give it a shot!

The following weekend, the Frogs will be participating in the annual Mayor's Cup in Upper Sandusky where we have 4 games (!!!) on Saturday June 13th starting at 9:30am with matches against our friends the Early Riser Base Ball Club of Detroit, Mansfield Independents Base Ball Club, Whiskey Island Shamrocks Base Ball Club and Wyandotte Stars Vintage Base Ball Club!

The Great Black Swamp Frogs kicked off the 2026 season with a friendly match against the Sylvania Sluggers, a team made up of local residents of importance (aka celebrities like Bucket Brigade, the Fire Chief; Fuzzy, a local police officer; Brewer, the owner of a local bar etc). The game was part of the Sylvania: America 250 celebration and despite the rain, we had a great turnout! Cranks were entertained, both teams had a blast, and many members hung out at Dallas Taproom next to J&G Pizza afterwards. The Frogs ended up winning 24-10 and the game ball was presented to Brewer (aka Melissa Dallas) to commemorate the day!

Club President, Trout, was on WTOL yesterday to talk about vintage baseball and our upcoming participation in Sylvania's America250 celebration this Saturday!

Hope to see you all at Veteran's Memorial Field for practice today at 5:00pm where we will be demonstrating the rules of the game with our first opponents this year, the Sylvania Sluggers! Basically, it's like modern Spring Training and the weather is definitely appropriate for such!

Reminder Frogs,

We will be practicing today, 5pm at Veterans Memorial Park. Some members of the Sylvania team that we will be playing against on May 16th should be joining us. Today will be a great opportunity to teach the game of 1860s baseball while brushing off some of the off-season dust!

No practice today (4/26) but we hope to see everyone the next two weeks, May 3 and May 10 in preparation for our (now) first game of the season against the Sylvania Sluggers as part of the America 250 Celebration. Practice will be at 5:00pm at Veteran's Memorial Field - see you all there!
