A page from the Hills • Forrest • Smith portfolio – Chicago Highlands Golf Club, Westchester, Ill. How inviting is this? 270-acres of “linksland” dedicated to golf, with impressive views of the Chicago skyline and no homes in site. Massive fescue hills, sprawling bentgrass fairways, ever-changing prairie winds and classic golf challenges. We transformed a waste landfill into one of the Midwest’s most dynamic golf experiences. Experience it for yourself!

From "Golf Course Industry," Collier’s Reserve (a Hills*Forrest*Smith design) has been at the front of environmental efforts in Florida and beyond for more than 30 years. "There are a lot of great places to play golf, but not many that can provide great golf while being so ingrained with its natural environment.” https://tinyurl.com/dp49fwh6

From the Hills.Forrest.Smith portfolio – Journey at Pechanga, Temecula, Calif. Set amidst the foothills of the Temecula Mountains Journey offers awe-inspiring views of Wine Country and rolling hills. During the course's creation, great care was taken to preserve the native live oaks and protect culturally sensitive areas, honoring the land’s integrity and heritage. The result? A truly remarkable golfing experience that celebrates the rich history of the Pechanga Tribe and showcases the beauty of the natural landscape.

Multiple Hills.Forrest.Smith designs have achieved “Signature Sanctuary” distinction from Audubon International. Steve Forrest recently shared these and other examples with students at Schiller International University’s Madrid Campus, illustrating that there is more that can and should be done around the world to show respect for both the land and the traditions of the game.

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years for The Sand Golf Club. What started as a flat field, evolved into a rugged dune landscape—a beautiful canvas for a truly memorable golf experience.
Cheers to 20 years of great golf—and to many more ahead. ⛳️

Everyone talks about career goals but there’s a lot to be said for paint on your boots and marking sand lines for new bunkers. Nothing I’d rather be doing.
Happy Friday everyone—get out and play some golf this weekend.
