At The Hot Room we primarily practice a series of 26 postures & 2 breathing exercises performed in a heated (105 degrees/40% Humidity) room. The series is based on the teaching of Bishnu Ghosh, made popular in the West by Bikram Choudhury. What is Yin & Yoga Nidra?
We begin with 30 minutes of Yin where you hold passive poses for 3-5 minutes each. This allows the muscles to release, allowing the denser tissue of the body - the joints, fascia, and ligaments to absorb the benefits of the postures. Total relaxation setting you up for 30 mins of Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation which will allow for a deep state of conscious relaxation. Brain activity reduces and the body goes into a healing state: removing mental toxins at a cellular level, refreshing the mind, and eliminating emotional baggage from the subconscious.
