With the tragic events of Saturday night and our four-day Watershed Weekend just a few days away, we want you to know that safety is our priority.

We have been working with the Toledo Police Department, the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, our own internal police force, and private security to ensure public safety at Glass City Riverwalk events. Our security plan for the upcoming weekend is the most extensive yet.

What happened Saturday in the Old West End has shaken and saddened our community, but it is not a reflection of the city as a whole.

Glass City Riverwalk is uniting us while bringing new energy to the banks of the Maumee River. It is another example of the principle “Good use drives out bad use” that we experience every day in the Metroparks.

It's , and there's no better way to mark it than getting out on the trail with your community. 🏃

Metroparks Toledo and the Toledo Roadrunners are teaming up for a 5K at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark on Wednesday, June 3. The race kicks off at 6:30 PM.

The course follows an all-purpose paved trail that is welcoming for all ages and abilities. Run the full 5K, walk it, or turn around at the halfway point. The route includes an upper loop of about 1.7 miles with an out-and-back, so you can go the full distance or take it at your own pace. Either way, you'll be moving alongside neighbors on a beautiful summer evening.

A few things to know before you go:
- All kids 12 and under are free
- Registration is $5 for Toledo Roadrunners Club members and $10 for non-members
- A clock will be set up to track your time
- Water, snacks, and a few giveaways waiting for you at the finish

Registration is online only. Sign up and find all the details at metroparkstoledo.com/events.

We'll see you on the trail.

Please consider sponsoring the 2026 Ohio Bat Blitz happening at Metroparks Toledo!

The success of the Bat Blitz is made possible by the dedication of many skilled volunteers who generously donate their time. We already have a great group of volunteers ready to carry out the netting and educational events planned for this event, but we need support. To express our appreciation, we aim to help offset the costs of lodging, meals, and supplies associated with the event and its participants. This support also helps reduce financial barriers, making it possible for students, young professionals, and others to take part.

To sponsor this amazing event visit this website – https://web.cvent.com/event/7e604b15-cf25-45b8-9e6b-95c5c1ab7f23/summary

What’s in it for you?

Your logo will be included on our program, website, and displayed during the two-day event.
An opportunity to support an important event that contributes to bat conservation and research, outreach, and training of young professionals and students.

Deadline to sponsor is June 15!
