Next week, Olympic rhythmic gymnast and Broadway dancer Aliane Baquerot-Wilson will join Toledo Ballet for an inspiring week of training during our Summer Dance Intensive June 15-19.

Aliane Baquerot-Wilson is an Olympic rhythmic gymnast, turned Broadway dancer. She appeared on Broadway in the original company of Saturday Night Fever and Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out and was also a member of the first national tour of Contact. Following that she moved to Los Angeles to try her hand at film and television. Aliane can be seen in films such as: Southland Tales, Spider-Man 3, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and A Christmas Carol. She also worked on tv shows like Cold Case and was a featured trainer on NBC's Celebrity Circus.

Aliane has danced with multiple recording artists including: Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, John Legend, Elton John and Tony Bennett. Aliane now resides in Columbus and is passionate about teaching and passing along what she has learned throughout all of her experiences about the business end of the business as well as the art of dance.

We are also thrilled to welcome Cleveland Ballet professional ballet dancer, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨! His intensive is from 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟐-𝟐𝟔.

𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 are for 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝟒-𝟕 and 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 are for 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝟐.𝟓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑. Students who are not enrolled at Toledo Ballet are welcome to attend. Students who register for both weeks will receive a $𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭! Current scholarship students are eligible for additional savings—be sure to ask about what opportunities may be available to you!

We will also be hosting a 𝐃𝐎𝐍 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐗𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏 that is open to dancers in 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝟐.𝟓+ from 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟎-𝟏𝟒. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow—plus, participants will be automatically cast in our spring production with no additional audition required.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀!

𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐒 graduated Magna Cum Laude from Perrysburg High School with an honors diploma and fine arts accolades. During her high school years she also excelled at violin, was a 4-year member of the PHS dance team and studied ASL! Isabella started her dance journey at age 2! She joined Toledo Ballet in the fall of 2020 along with her two younger sisters.

Isabella’s favorite memory of Toledo ballet is two fold! her favorite class memory is Laura’s! She says it’s a way to decompress after school. Isabella’s favorite Nutcracker memory is snow scene! When the snow gets dropped a little heavy , it’s white out and ends up everywhere including following you home.

Next on Isabella’s journey is the University of Findlay which she will attend with a Deans Scholarship to study Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. This step will lead her towards her final goal of becoming a Dr of Veterinary Medicine. Isabella hopes to keep dance in her life by teaching an occasional class while getting her education.
