There's something powerful about having self-control over your life. At UMS, we strive to teach our students to have self-control within many areas of their lives. Self-control is also one of our five tenents and the name of our first form/kata.

God has given us the ability to have great control of ourselves, but with Him, our focus and our self-control will be mighty!

Being dishonest is giving life to a lie. One little lie told will follow with another lie to support the original. These dishonest words now have life as you care for them and nurture them to become truths, which now must live on.

Being honest in all circumstances shows bravery in the mist of disapproval, disappointment, and shame.

Yet honesty builds integrity and honor in a world lacking the two. So face your fears and stand strong on your character! Have pride in your words!

What's up Toms River! UMS Training Center is now holding classes at Silver Bay Elementary School and we couldn't be more excited for the future.

We'll be hosting classes at Silver Bay until our new, 6,000 square foot facility is complete in just a few months. Come visit us starting 6:00pm to watch a class in action and see how our programs are building leaders out of our communities youth.

Our lesson of the month here at UMS Training Center is confidence. At times, we must find confidence within ourselves to speak up, stand up, and fight for what is right just as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did.

Sometimes, we listen to the voice in our heads regardless of what it's saying. Learn to control what you're listening to regardless of who it comes from. Accept positively only, and confidence will follow.
