✨ Reflections on Coaching ✨

As I continue my journey as a coach, I’m reminded of the true purpose behind what we do: fostering joy. Whether it’s in the teams I coach, the players I mentor, or the coaches I collaborate with, joy is at the heart of everything. If we’re not creating an environment that brings happiness and passion, then we’re missing the mark.

Earlier this week, I had a deeply impactful conversation with a mentor who reminded me of the generational blessings that have shaped my path. I am forever grateful to my mother for igniting the fire of passion within me for this game and for the life of coaching.

Let’s continue to spread joy, inspire one another, and cherish the journey we’re on together.

Today marked the end of an era as our senior girls played their final game together before embarking on the next chapter of their lives. We finished the season strong with a 3-0 win, securing second place in our division in . With a record of 10-3-2 in all competitions and a 1st place finish in the Delaware Independence Cup, this team has truly shined. The growth and development I’ve witnessed in these girls, both on and off the field, has been incredibly inspiring and is the reason I love coaching. I have no doubt that these young women will carry their newfound optimism and work ethic into the future, becoming leaders in their community.

My office for the day as I work on my game analysis for National C License. Thanks to these note books have been a life saver during this course!!

Today would have been my amazing mom Coach Peggy Graham-Matthews’ 61st Birthday. It’s been 5 years since we said goodbye, but her memory continues to shape my life every day. I wish she could be here to celebrate with me as I embark on new adventures like getting married and becoming a college soccer coach. I know she touched the lives of so many, which is why this year, we’ll be awarding the first Coach Peggy Graham-Matthews Memorial Scholarship to a boy and a girl in her honor.
