With the wind freshening, the afternoon races of week 8 of the Championship Series, hosted by BYC and OCC, did not disappoint. And while all the races were notable, the second race for the A-Cats, Ensigns and Flying Scotts which finished near the Beachwood club house was truly epic, For the A-Cats, the fleet ran downwind close together and the lead changed hands several times, with GHOST winning by a boat length over WASP and the rest of the fleet. Truly a great race! Thanks again go to my friend and fellow photographer Adam Redding for getting me around the race courses and in perfect position to watch the finish of great races. Week 8 of the Championship Series, hosted by BYC and OCC, started out wet and flat--not great for racing or photography. One round of races were completed on the Green Course; none on the Rose course. But things improved as the day progressed...Let me thank my friend and fellow photographer Adam Redding for getting me around the racecourses and keeping me as out of the rain as much as possible.

Good morning! It’s gray and a bit rainy on the Toms River this morning, but the forecast is for clearing sky’s and fair winds—so it should be a great day for week 8 of the Championship Series, as hosted by Beachwood Yacht Club. There will be finishes for Acats, Flying Scotts, and Ensigns at BYC, so stop by and enjoy the races!
