Hey guys, quick update. Last week, I took a mis-step and fell off the T1 truck and got lucky because my ribs broke my fall on a bench-vice bolted to a toolbox in the shop. Could have been way worse.

I do apologize though. This is delaying a customer build and getting your thermals out the door. I called out of my other job after re-injuring myself yesterday. And subsequently went to the ER last night to make sure everything was more or less where it was suppose to be in my body. Today is the first day that I basically can’t move without significant pain that I can remember - so I need to take it easy for a couple of days and let some inflammation go down. Sorry for the delay but this is a little unusual circumstance.

In other news, this will be the last gun assembled in Utah. If you didn’t already know, we are relocating to Florida with the goal of being setup, co-located with Hot Shot Daytona by mid September. Look forward to working with those guys and getting them trained as qualified M8 techs so I’m not a single point of failure in the future. We have an enormous amount material and component improvements lined up along with some other side projects I hope I can share a little about sometime soon (maybe).

What a time to be alive. Introducing the USB-rechargeable T1000 Micro thermal — the most cost-effective thermal product available today. Doesn’t take a lot of research to see this is the cheapest way to add thermal capability to any operation you see fit, including checking your house for heat or cooling loss. This unit could pay for itself in energy costs alone just by showing you where you’re losing heat or cooling.

Let’s Non-Uniformity Correction (NUC) When a thermal optic freezes for a second, it’s performing Non-Uniformity Correction (NUC) automatically — the internal shutter calibrates the sensor so every pixel stays accurate. This happens automatically once every few minutes or substantial changes in thermal properties of the subject(s) being viewed, and will freeze the image for .2 to .5 seconds to sharpen the image. This is normal. On the MQ9 Reaper, we had what is called a Multi-Spectrum Targeting System (MTS) ball. NUC was done manually on a $1.5m camera built by Raytheon and shut down target acquisition for a significant period of time (you guys can chime in here on rough estimates - it’s been 5 years since I’ve seen it). So this little unit is just mind blowing for what it does for the price point.

As a side note - we are joining forces with HotShotDaytona and moving to Florida for a variety of really awesome reasons. Utah has been great, looking forward to the sunshine state.
