McDonald Racing

It's October so we're going to take this Jack-o-lantern out and see if we can make something out of it. Gonna try our luck at Electric City Speedway in Butler MO.

Last week Sawyer won his 10th novice race! Tonight he raced his first intermediate race and did a great Job! He finished 2nd in round 1, 3rd in round 2, and 3rd in the final race. He was presented with a plaque at intermission.

Wyatt had a great night of racing, too! He finished 1st in round 1 and advanced to the final race where he finished in 1st again!!

Weston had a great time riding his strider and finished 3rd in all rounds. I forgot to snap a picture 🤦‍♀️.

We celebrated with ice cream cones from Sonic!

Boys competed in the 2022 Sunflower State Games BMX edition tonight. Sawyer finished 3rd in his main, Wyatt finished 2nd, and Weston finished 4th. This race wrapped up a streak of racing this week. They raced 3 of the last 4 days and are a little wore out I think. Hopefully they get some rest the next couple of days before a fun weekend at the lake!

Today we ventured out to Emery Park in Wichita to race in a state qualifier. It was a lot different than what they are used to, but it was a great opportunity to get out of their comfort zone and try something different! Sawyer finished 2nd in the first round and transferred to the main. He finished 2nd in the main. Wyatt finished 3rd in the first round, 2nd in the second round and transferred to the main. He finished 3rd in the main. Tomorrow night we'll be back on our own turf at Heartland BMX!

Hot summer nights! Sawyer and Wyatt both won their races and Weston brought home 2nd! A hot night and hard work deserves a cold drink to cool down, so we’re gonna grab one on the way home!

The boys had a make-up race last night and did great!

Racing didn’t go so well last night. I just can’t figure this car out. Was well off the pace on a pretty rough track just couldn’t get the car to hook up, spun the tires all the way through the corners and looked like a squirrel. Only had 4 cars and 2 of them couldn’t finish for mechanical failures, so got paid for 2nd but not celebrating that performance. Best part of the day was spending it with the whole family. Ashli and the boys support me unconditionally and we all had a great time in just getting back to the track. Sawyer was an awesome pit crew and helped out way more than I expected throughout the whole day of prep and at the track. Proud of him and awesome to see him getting excited about going racing. We will regroup and try something else, this car can do it, I just got to figure it out.

And we’re off!

Raceday prep starting early. Never been to Valley before, but I love short track racing! We will see how it goes!

Plan is to race Valley this Saturday! Been a long time since I’ve had the car out, excited to get back in the seat.

A fun night at the Track for the McDonald Boys! Total points all around.

Sawyer finished 2nd in round 1, 1st in round 2, and first in the finals!! He's up to 7 first place finishes!

Wyatt finished 1st in all three rounds!! So excited to pick up his first 1st place finish!!

Weston finished 3rd in all three rounds and as always was super proud to get his trophy!
A night like that called for a celebratory trip to Sheridan's on our way home!
