I was just reminded this morning and telling a friend how only 2 years ago before I started to play disc golf I was begging my doctor for a handicapped parking pass. I couldn’t walk and my fibromyalgia pain was so unbearable it made it that I couldn’t be touched. Today 2 years later after pushing myself constantly and consistently I’m so proud and thankful to my body that can endure up to 6 hours of extreme weather, fatigue and terrain to allow me to play the sport I have fallen in love with and become so passionate about. I am in no way a good player but I can’t imagine ever giving it up. Disc golf saved my life in so many ways this is only one of them.

Thank you to The Groove Shack for supporting Disc for Life Kanas Chapter. By giving us a box of very old unclaimed discs to mark up and send out. Remember if your heading to a course on vacation or just to try a new course please get with me to bring a disc for life disc. Thank you to all that help me to start the ripple of finding a disc and the conversations that hopefully follow and the good they do.

Best shot of the weekend day 1 hole 9 the island! Birdied it. (2) Worse shot followed on hole 10 where I threw off the Cliff almost down to the down under course and had to get myself up a very dangerous steep hill forest trying to hold onto anything I could without sliding down the cliff. With a day (8) to end the torture. That messed up my head so much for the rest of the round. Today was shotgun start and I started on 10 and got that s**t over with right away. I went to it early and practiced throwing on the fair way between the woods(cliff) and the outta bounds rocks. I ended today’s round with a par on the island. I wasn’t happy with my (3)but the spotter said “Seriously, not many 3’s today some 9-10’s. ) So I felt better about par (3) and that birdie (2) was even sweeter.

Very emotional and cry. I’m So grateful for the EMT’s who brought me back both times and gave me this time on earth with my kids, my friends, disc golf and all the future experiences I will have for as many days I’m blessed to still be alive. Disc For Life because no matter how much pain your in, how deep the hole your in, how dark the world is and you can’t see a way out, time heals, things change, pain may not go away but it dulls to be bearable.
