Valkyrie 18U (formerly Next Level Duran 18U) is looking to add 2 experienced players to our roster. We’ll be considering grad years ‘27-‘25. Outfield experience is preferable. One of our main objectives is to put our girls in a great position to get to play at the collegiate level. Desire to play in college isn't required, however our team is ran in a way to get you the opportunity to if you do.

How we interact with the ground plays a big role in how we create power. Using from Farm System helps us understand how kids are interacting with the ground…..if they even are! My man AJ demostrating how we should be using the ground to our benefit!

Zoie had an amazing Fall season! She works hard on dialing in her swing and her stats show it. Clean up hitters typically have a pretty good average, have a decent amount of walks, and they strikeout quite a bit BUT when they hit the ball…..they HIT the ball! She led the team in average and never struck out. She stepped up to the plate 48 times and put the ball in play 47 of those times and got walked the other time! Make them get you out! Great job Zoie and keep up the hard work!

Using the really helps kids feel their turn happening from their torso. My man is using all of the bigger muscles in his body to keep good direction through the ball!

Rolling over takes place naturally in the swing. We’re concerned with when it takes place. You can’t tell a player to ‘stop rolling over’. It’s happening because of something going wrong down stream. Taking swings with a foam roller can help players feel how they need to control their body in the swing. Have them focus on controlling their posture through their swing and the foam roller will do the rest.

All you need is a wall and a foam roller! Kids can do this drill easily at home to feel what it’s like to have a connected swing, simple path to the ball, and to rotate around their head.

Swinging up or swinging down…..which it right? It’s not about right or wrong but one does make more sense to us. Swinging on plane (swinging up) just makes more common sense to allow hitters the highest success rate. Timing is the biggest reason for this! There’s only 1 point of intersection between the barrel and the ball when we swing down on the ball. When we get the barrel on plane with the ball, we create 3-4 feet of intersection. That means our hitters don’t have to perfect with their timing. There’s some room for error to still be successful built in this swing path.

Creating hip hinge and maintaining it through the swing are essential to having good direction in your swing. ‘Butt to the wall’ is a great drill/cue to help kids get that feeling.

The self-toss drill is a great one to use with kids that struggle to create rhythm, timing, and/or adjustability. It won’t look pretty in the beginning but they’ll have fun with it and they’ll be able to train in a way that they can’t replicate with a tee alone.

Great PVC pipe progression to start a hitting session to get your feels down for the day. This helps the hitter feel how simple our bat path should be….from behind our head and turning the barrel behind the ball. Our front side can be tough to control as well so this helps the hitter feel their lead arm move with their front shoulder.
