Strength, Speed & Power Training. Baseball Performance

05/12/2026

Of course you do…

Anything and anyone can make you tired, or make you feel like you “worked”

But few actually make you better.

Training can be very paradoxical. Sometimes less is more, and sometimes getting tired, sore, or fatigue are not signs that you are actually improving.

Structured, periodized, intentional, monitored training is what gives athletes the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential and raise their ceiling.

It doesn’t matter who it is, structured training 10/10 times beats YouTube fitness content.

Become a REAL athlete

Honestly…

What I said at the end is the real advice.

05/07/2026

Your words are merely a projection of your thoughts, and your thoughts shape your reality.

We don’t experience “life” we experience the life we focus on, what we pay attention to and entertain.

Development and Vision > Today’s talent

Two things can be true at once,

Live day by day, and have a vision of where you want to be in 1,2,3 years.

Whether you are ranked #1 or not ranked at all. Where you are heading is more important than where you are.

Create a vision and stick to the vision

5 hills I will die on as a baseball performance coach

1- More games don’t make you a better player

The baseball community (just like many others sports communities) is starting to realize that all the tournaments and trips and “exposure” from playing so many games, isn’t what makes players better. Training and preparation are. Can’t show a skill that you don’t have.

2- Any rankings before 12 years old is eyewash and a money grab.

Prepubescent bodies are one of the most unpredictable beings. Giving a kid a number and a ranking just creates a constant comparison loop before anyone can even tell how the kid will turn out.

3- Being strong and fast will not automatically make you a good player. But being weak and slow will definitely make you a bad one.

Not much to say here, common sense helps.

4- Baseball players should play other sports if interested and possible.

Early Specialization could be a problem and we now that. But all different sports have a different set of requirements and factors that have the potential to enhance athleticism, decision making, and overall performance.

5- How good/bad you are at 15 or before doesn’t determine how good/bad you will be at 18,19,20.

If only players knew that 1 year can change your entire career, they wouldn’t give up so soon. You need to start finding the solution to the problem and stop comparing yourself so much.

Getting faster | Getting Stronger | Moving Better | Competing | Having fun.

Got to have your priorities straight

Performance > Looks

There is special ages, times and seasons to get big. Knowing when truly changes how development is structured.

WEIGHTS MAKE YOU SLOW

They actually don’t.

But if you only move slow (lifting heavy weights) you will stay slow

It felt important to share this

TEACHING THE BASICS OF MOVEMENT

Weights, plyos, sprints, drops, throws, activation and hundreds of other activities are awesome and needed to improve athleticism.

But involved in that process should be an underlying denominator that blankets all disciplines. And that’s movement.

Learning how to move and powerfully flow through positions is what we are after.

Strength and power are expressed optimally through efficient motion and coordination. Hence why the nervous system plays such a big role in skill acquisition and performance improvement. It’s not just muscles and bones.
