The stories that we share as we climb the ladder help in ways many don't understand.
Sharing the stories that didn't work help people gain an experience that might help others sort through similar circumstances.
Sharing your journey brings us all closer together. Don't wait for success to happen to tell your story. The thought it takes to tell your story helps you sort through your options.
90 percent of bowlers need support that doesn't come from the marketing we are exposed to…we can change that, one story at a time.
BowlU Competition
“For All The Right Reasons”

I said I would post the results from the first week after I got over half of the scores in.
Thank you for those who are participating. There are still 7 out there that we need to help show how easy it is to post their scores.
Once we get everyone comfortable with submitting their scores I want to do interviews with how their week of competition went. There are things we can learn from and have fun with whether it was a good week or a learning week. Maybe you have a story you would like to tell. I want to emphasize the bowler and their story. Some of the best stories come from the not-so-good weeks. We all have good and bad weeks, lets hear about yours!
We got off to a “fair” start. I will be checking in with everyone today and tomorrow to see if there is anything I can do to help them post their scores. I expect it to take some time to get it all ironed out. The great thing is the experience.
I want to recognize those who posted their scores. It will be fun to follow the good weeks and the bad weeks because the only way to get better is to put it all out on the table.
I have all of the email addresses of those participating in the first BPI Championship. Now I want to create a text group so if each of those competing will PM me your phone number I can move forward with creating that group.
Thank you for you attention to this matter
Checking in with everyone competing in the BPI Championship to know their status. I want to get all of us together in one location to communicate. I can do this via the BowlU community or a text group. What is the best way for you?

This is the first week of the first BPI Championship and it reminds me of why I began sharing BowlU knowledge and experience.
While winning is the target, the everyday goal and motivation is improving.
As a bowler, I tried anything and everything in my search, if it made sense I kept it, if it didn't make sense, I ditched it. There is so much “stuff” out there, it can be confusing and frustrating.
What never failed was competition, any and every competition is a valuable lesson. You can prefer any type of competition you choose, but if you want to get better... take the challenge, no matter what it is. Figure it out and find another challenge. If you truly want to improve, don't just keep looking and debating for a particular competition challenge.
As a bowler, every challenge is an opportunity to improve your knowledge, experience, and skills.
As a leader in the industry, I believe it is the competition pathway that drives everything. The extreme majority will always be those who bowl to have fun and enjoy a social environment. The vast majority do not want to overthink their equipment and strategy. Entertainment will always be the environment they choose, and they deserve it. It is the leaderships role to provide it.
From that huge majority, there will be a certain percentage that wants a greater challenge, it is the leaderships role to provide it.
There isn't a specific number of steps between the “recreational pool” and the “best of the best”, it is the leaderships role to provide it.
I certainly have my ideas and welcome the challenge of working with other industry leaders to take a leadership role and provide it.
Consider this an invitation to all industry leaders to use our experience and knowledge to build the pathway from the “recreational pool” to the “best of the best”
I am ready for the discussions, the different thoughts and ideas while working together to grow the sport and industry.
What I can not do is wait any longer, I have waited and proposed long enough. It is time for me to act like a leader and share my knowledge and experience to “however large” of an audience I have, knowing good thoughts and ideas will grow.
I look forward to a time when we all work together. There are so many opportunities and possibilities, my focus is to act by introducing some of those opportunities and possibilities. I have faith that the other leaders within the industry will see the benefits and join forces. My faith is based on knowing, that every industry leader I have ever met wants what is best for the growth of the sport and the development of its athletes.
To the BPI Championship participants ... first, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to submit your scores. The easiest way is to just have the desk print out your frame by frame scores, take a picture of them and send that picture to me.
As part of this competition we are also introducing the beta version of the BowlU Clear the Deck scoring application. We have sent an email to each participant to participate in the beta testing, if they choose.
It is required to have an iPhone to use the beta version and if you have access to an iPhone use the link we sent you to download the "TestFlight" app and simply follow the direction s to be a part of the awesome scoring app that can be used for both traditional scoring and CtD scoring.
I have included an informative video within the BowlU Community. I have entered each of you into the community and sent you a link to access the community.
Lots of fun ahead
Rick

This is the first week of BPI Championship competition. I look forward to sharing this experience as we unfold one of the most exciting opportunities we have seen in our sport.
Consider this a showcase of possibilities as we introduce the competition and the beta version of BowlU's Clear the Deck scoring app.
No matter what is taught, it is the competition that provides the pathway.
