SAGE Square & Round Dance Club A Square and Round Dancing club in MidCoast Maine. Today, the club has over 100 members from the Bath, Brunswick, Topsham and Boothbay areas.

Square dancing is a traditional American folk dance with four couples in a square moving to the rhythm of the music and the calls of a Square Dance caller. SAGE (formerly known as The Sage Swingers) is a square and round dance club that was founded over 40 years ago by personnel working for the USAF Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) in Topsham.

TIPPP Frequently Asked Question #2

Q: Do dancers need to know the new calls on September 1?
A: No.

September 1 is the date the new lists take effect. It is not the date by which every dancer is expected to know every call on those lists.

New calls will need to be taught. Callers should begin teaching from the new lists while recognizing that dancers need time to learn and become comfortable with the changes.

Think implementation, not instant mastery.
