Changes at Lake Isabella for 2022.
From the Auxiliary to Paradise Cove along the shoreline, including launching your boat and parking it at the launch ramp area and the Camp 9 area, you will be required to purchase a day use permit for $12 per day.
On the other side of the lake between the main dam to the lodge up in Wofford Heights, the daily permit is NOT required.
The last time that I was there, the South Fork launch ramp was the only ramp that had enough water to launch your boat on a paved ramp. However, it was possible to launch at French Gulch Marina and French Gulch Recreation areas from the peninsulas that extend out if you choose the right spot to do so. Be extremely careful of submerged boulders when heading out. A 4x4 tow vehicle would be very beneficial when using these 2 areas. Boulder Gulch is another area if you choose the right spot to launch.

Fabulous News from the Corps:
I had asked if the end-of-2022 completion date included site restoration; and specifically, just when we would be able to use our beloved Launch 19 again. Their response:
"Hi Eva. Yes, we expect to have Boat Launch 19 reopened by end of 2022. And keeping our fingers crossed for rain this season!
Hope all are well with the nearby wildfire"
