🥈 So proud of Shae today!

She stepped up to compete here in Las Vegas against a very high-level field and had an amazing performance.

Three matches today:
🔥 First match: 9–0 win
🔥 Second match: 5–0 win
🥈 In the final, she was unfortunately disqualified due to an unintentional movement.

Regardless of how the last match ended, I couldn’t be more proud of the way she competed. She showed great technique, composure, and heart every time she stepped on the mat.

Silver medal today, but this is only the beginning. 🥈

There is so much more ahead for Shae, and I’m very excited to watch her continue to grow, learn, and compete.

Well deserved. 💜🥋

Congratulations to Josh on earning his Purple Belt today!

After taking a 7-year break from Jiu-Jitsu, Josh came back, stayed consistent, and has spent the last three years growing and improving as a Blue Belt with us. His evolution has been incredible, and today he enters a new chapter with a very well-deserved Purple Belt.

What makes this even more special is having his three kids training with us too. The whole family has become an important part of ESJJ, and we’re very grateful to have them as part of our Jiu-Jitsu family.

Congratulations, Josh! We’re proud of you and excited to see what’s next. The journey continues! 💜

🥋 GUSTAVO BATISTA SEMINAR AT ESJJ

What an incredible seminar today with Gustavo Batista.

His pressure passing is on another level. The control, timing, and especially the small details he shared today showed exactly why he is one of the best in the world.

But for me, bringing someone to teach a seminar at our academy has never been only about how many titles they have won or how technical their Jiu-Jitsu is.

Of course, I want my students to learn from the very best.

But character matters just as much.

When I invite someone into my academy, I’m inviting them into my home and around my family, my students, and people I care about. So I want someone who is not only an exceptional athlete and teacher, but also a genuinely good person — humble, respectful, and someone who represents the values I believe martial arts should stand for.

Gustavo is exactly that.

Amazing Jiu-Jitsu, incredible details, great energy, and most importantly, a great person.
