True art comes from within.
Lee Krasner believed that an artist’s work is inseparable from who they are — their emotions, experiences, memories, struggles and identity.
Art isn’t simply about technique or creating something beautiful. It’s about expressing something deeply personal and authentic.
For women artists, this message is particularly powerful. For centuries, women were often expected to conform to society’s ideas of what they should create and who they should be.
Krasner reminds us that an artist’s greatest strength is her individuality.
You don’t need to become someone else to create meaningful art. Everything you need to begin is already within you.
