Old pic, New win! We were unable to attend the NY Emmys this year, but Trishna Begam and I found out early this morning that we won our second Emmy together! I can't tell you what a privilege it is to have worked with Trishna for the last dozen years. She is not only a supremely talented reporter, but also one of my very best friends and I miss seeing and working with her on a daily basis! She is the BEST!

I love when the Northern Lights beam down from the top of a mountain and create fairy lights all through the town! This crap has been worse than the fake eclipse “photos”

NEWS10 says goodbye to longtime photographer Ric Easton 08/31/2024

Ok, I know you are all tired of hearing about my retirement from News10 by now... But my last day (yesterday) was amazing. All the congrats and well wishes from countless co-workers and friends, past and present was overwhelming (yes, I keep having to use that word)! After work I got to meet up with pals both new and old. But before I clocked out for my final shift, I was gifted with this tribute. Trishna, you did a fantastic job putting this together and I was (almost) speechless! Thank you to everyone in my News10 family for all the love! I will carry this with me the rest of my life!

Trekking in Ticonderoga 08/29/2024

As the retirement countdown draws to a close, I saved my favorite story for last! My best buddy and fellow nerd, Trishna and I took a trip to visit the USS Enterprise! Well, to be more specific, it was a recreation of the original sets from Star Trek. What an amazing experience, and I can't imagine a better reporter and friend to be along for the ride! It aired the same month as the show's 50th Anniversary. Two great things came out of this story... We won a NY Emmy and to top it off, about a year and a half after this story aired, William Shatner visited the sets and Trishna and I got to return. If you had told 13 year old me that someday I would be doing an interview with Captain Kirk on the Bridge of the Enterprise, I never would have believed you! Live Long and Prosper!

Trekking in Ticonderoga My reporter, Trishna Begam and I headed up to Ticonderoga, NY to pay a visit to James Cawley and his amazing reproductions of the old Star Trek sets. Originally…

Saratoga Race Course - Travers Special Close 08/29/2024

For about 4 years in a row, I spent a lot of time in Saratoga for our live broadcasts during track season. The highlight for me was always putting together the opens and closes for our various specials. Here are two of them. The first was an open from 2014. The second clip was the show-closer for our Travers Special back in 2012. Enjoy!

Where Eagles Soar 08/28/2024

One of my all time favorites! John’s first line inspired the first and last shots. We took home a NY Emmy for this one!

Where Eagles Soar Inspirational story of Steven Ferro, a young man who wouldn't let a tragic accident hold him back. WTEN's John Gray wrote the words. I edited and took…

WTEN-TSR Fatal Obsession Anya PKG 7 10 11P with tag 08/27/2024

Some stories and events you never forget. Back in 1993 I was on a ride-along with the Colonie Police dept. What happened turned into a horrific story about an attempted kidnapping. 25 years later Anya Tucker and I revisited that story that still leaves a big impression on me and others.

The Shiner 08/23/2024

I think it was around December of 2022 that Anya and I passed by a display at Cambridge High School that was a shrine to the famous Norman Rockwell painting "The Shiner." When we found out the girl in the painting was local (but now lived across the country), we knew we had to do a story about her! It took another six months to make it happen, but on the 70th Anniversary of that famous Saturday Evening Post cover, we put this story together.

Keys to the Past 08/21/2024

Countdown to Retirement Continues! This is a story I did with the incomparable Mary Wilson! It won us a NY Emmy in the Nostalgia category! Mary was such a great reporter and an even better friend! Spoiler alert: It took awhile, but Scott finally got that gift from T.H. When I went to visit Scott for the follow up, he gifted me with my very own typewriter!

Trishna and I had so much fun shooting this story about boxing lessons helping folks with Parkinson's that we returned a couple of times to start our own training. I had to quit when she knocked my block off! https://vimeo.com/996392437?share=copy
