Witnessing the transformation of my three groups of exceptional Black Belt testers over two weekends has been truly remarkable - I'm beaming with pride and admiration for each and every one of you.

Our Troy Martial Arts Travel Team participated in the annual USA Taekwondo Championships last weekend, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We again this year received an award for the school with the highest attendance at the tournament! Thank you to all the students and parents who participated. :-)

Grand Master M'Hammed Bouabdellaoui, thank you for putting on another outstanding event.

A special thanks to our two coaches for the event: Master Jorge Terrazas, and Master Edgar Terrazas. Not only great coaches, but great Role Models for our students.

Our Troy Martial Arts students had a great experience and were very proud of their performances and medals. As always, everything was again well organized, and the tournament ran smoothly from start to finish.

The venue is excellent, the volunteers were helpful and welcoming, and we always feel appreciated when we attend. This continues to be one of our go-to tournaments each year. It is a 2.5 hr drive, but well worth it.

A special thank you to the referees for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts ensure that the competition is run fairly and professionally, and it does not go unnoticed.

We appreciate all the time and effort that goes into making this such a successful event.

Annual Troy Martial Arts Instructor Dinner – January 17, 2026

On Saturday evening, January 17, 2026, we were proud to host our annual Troy Martial Arts Instructor Dinner at The Meeting House in Rochester.

The evening began with cocktails, followed by a wonderful buffet dinner, and concluded with dessert and great conversation. It was a relaxed and meaningful night dedicated to recognizing the incredible commitment, professionalism, and passion our instructors demonstrate throughout the year.

Our instructors are the heart of Troy Martial Arts. Our students deeply appreciate their mentorship, leadership, and guidance—both on and off the mat—and parents consistently express their gratitude for the positive impact these role models have on their children.

The evening also coincided with the annual Rochester Fire & Ice Festival, which added an extra touch of excitement to the night. As dinner concluded, we were treated to a beautiful fireworks display, providing a perfect ending to an already special evening.

To all of our instructors: thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Troy Martial Arts is stronger because of you.
