Happy National Coaches Day! 🌵

09/29/2026

In the aquatics community and beyond, from locally in the city of Tucson and the state of Arizona, to the entire country and world, we all mourn the loss of the great Frank Busch.

Coach Busch played an irreplaceable role in the storied history of the University of Arizona’s Hillenbrand Pool and its local sports club, Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics. The gap, left by his departure from this world, will never be filled.

But the legacy that Frank built, with his 35 year involvement with our club, will always live on. Coach Busch was a giant of both life and sport and I like to think that when I see our coaches and swimmers have success, both in and out of the pool, it is because we all stand on the shoulders of giants, such as Coach Busch.

Please take a moment and reflect on the impact Coach Busch has had on this sport as well as on the athletes, coaches and supporters that were graced by being in his orbit. Please keep the Busch’s in your thoughts during this difficult time.
