She came to Ruff & Rowdy shut down, fear-reactive, and with zero food or prey drive. Just over a week into her drive development reset, and now she’s launching over obstacles for food and toys like a whole new dog.

Confidence is earned — through the hunt.

Peanut’s in the house for a little jumpstart on her training journey — working through fear, reactivity, and confidence with a plan that actually makes sense to dogs.

Before Ruff & Rowdy stepped in, others had tried introducing him to shoes with an Ecollar—without much luck. But with our approach, we focused on engaging Maverick’s toy drive, making it all about fun and play. In no time, he forgot about the shoes and dove straight into the action!

Now, Maverick can hit the trails and walk on Tucson’s hot pavement hassle-free, with no worries about his paws. This is what training is all about—making challenges enjoyable for dogs while keeping their well-being a top priority!

At Ruff & Rowdy Dog Training, we believe in turning challenges into fun opportunities. Rather than relying on e-collars or constant corrections, we tapped into Maverick’s toy drive! 🎾 With the help of his favorite ball and his buddy Tank the Doberman, Maverick was so focused on playtime that he completely forgot about his shoes.

Now, Maverick’s paws are safe, and his mom can confidently take him for walks, even in warmer weather. 💪🐾 This protective layer means more adventures and less worry—win-win!
