If you are a seasoned deer hunter and maybe you have hunted Coues deer before, here is
your chance to explore the best Coues deer hunting on private ranches.
If you are tired of public land hunts with 700 other hunters in one single unit, then look no
further than a Coues deer hunt in Sonora Mexico.
Best times: December and January.
We scout out ranches that have a good house that can sleep up to six hunters with a good
bathroom with a hot shower. The roads must be in good shape and driven by a 4x4 truck or
side by side.
Glassing is key for a good spot & stalk hunt; we look for areas that have good glassing
points.
Our service is to es**rt you across the border, stopping at US Customs to clear your
weapons out of the country with the form 4457. Then we make sure your guns are checked
into Mexico with Mexican Customs and SEDENA.
Once the process is complete, we will es**rt your group to the ranch where you all can
hunt for 4-7 days, your choice. Once you are ready to come back, we will meet you at the
ranch and es**rt you back across the border, walking you through clearing your guns out of Mexico and clearing US Customs and Fish & Wildlife with your meat and trophies.

The 2026 Sonora Mexico Gould’s Turkey season has come to the end. We had a great season, 100% shot opportunity and success with every client we had in camp.
Congratulations to the ones who completed their Turkey slam and congrats to the ones who got their first ever Turkey. I could not have had this successful season with out my crew, Jorge, Carlos, Alfredo, Viejo and Tonito with assistance from Julio and this last hunt we were joined by Marla. I want to think all of our hunters arrived as clients who I now consider friends. Great times to be in the woods hearing Gobbles from every direction at dark thirty waiting on first light.

Gould’s Turkey hunt # 2 is done. We had a 2 hunters from Kentucky, 2 hunters from Utah and 1 from Colorado. Colorado Richard brought his bow and on the first day he had no problem taking 2 great Turkey’s. The other hunters could not wait and also took nice birds. For the past 5 years we have averaged a day and a half of hunting and we are still 100% successful , thanks to clients making good shots. We only take 5-6 hunters at a time on this unique ranch. The ranch house is over 100 years old, one of the things that I like is one of the bedrooms has a dirt floor, talk about rustic comfort. Thanks to the 5 hunters and special thanks to guides Carlos & Jorge, “Tonito” and el Viejo who know turkey hunting like no others.
Hopefully the next group of hunters have as much fun as these guys. I do know that all our hunters eat well thanks to Alfredo.

Well the first group of hunters are done.
We were waiting on the last hunter and he’s done, keeping this Gould’s Turkey hunt 100% success on this ranch. We average a day and a half even for 5 hunters. Alfredo Mijares our cook does a great job as well as guide Carlos Arvizu and the others.
Makes me happy to have great people who I now consider friends.

First group of Gould’s Turkey hunters in Sonora, Mexico. First afternoon we arrive and Shaun and Alisa did not waste any time in getting their birds. Father & Son doubled up today on the first day of their 3 day hunt. This area in Sonora is so beautiful and has a great population of Gould’s. 1 more turkey to complete another 100 % success trip. On this ranch we never know what we will see.

From my previous post yesterday about the Gould’s cancellation hunt.
Here are the pictures from the last couple days, the ranch owner just sent me.
Note the hen with a beard, I saw 2 like her last year.

I have 2 or 3 spots open for Gould’s Turkey in Sonora Mexico. The dates are May6-11,2026. This client had to cancel so this is a discounted hunt.
Arrive in Tucson May 5, you will be driven to Hermosillo Sonora on the 6, over night there and leave early on the 7 to the ranch. 3 full days of hunting, our shotguns available or bring your bow or crossbow. License and tag and all the necessary paperwork is included.
