We are excited to welcome Instrutora Formiguinha as a special guest for our 2026 Axé Capoeira Arizona Batizado e Troca de Corda.

With over 20 years of training in capoeira, Instrutora Formiguinha brings deep experience as both a teacher and active competitor. She currently teaches classes in Vancouver, Canada.

Throughout her capoeira career, she has traveled internationally to train and compete, representing the art in countries including Peru, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Most recently, she competed in CWC Brazil, continuing to test and refine her game on the global stage.

In the roda, she is widely respected for her positive attitude, playful style of play, and vibrant energy. And for those who know her well, also for her unmistakable fashion sense.

We are proud to recognize Graduada Sarará, Graduado Azeitona, and Graduado Carvão as part of the leadership and student body helping bring our 2026 Axé Capoeira Arizona Batizado e Troca de Corda to life.

We’re also happy to welcome Graduada Mafiosa, of Ginga Brasil as a special visiting guest.

Each of these dedicated capoeiristas represents years of commitment to the art, through training, teaching, supporting their fellow students, and helping cultivate the spirit of Axé Capoeira within our Arizona community. Their leadership, consistency, and love for capoeira continue to share the art-form.

At the same time, events like this are never created by a few individuals highlighted alone. They are made possible by the entire community of students who train week after week, the kids discovering capoeira, the parents who support their families’ journey, and the friends and community who show up to contribute their time, energy, and encouragement.

The Batizado e Troca de Corda is a celebration of that collective effort. It reflects the growth of every student, the guidance of our instructors, and the support of the families and community that stand behind them.

We are excited to welcome Instrutor Ninja from Axé Capoeira Vancouver, as a special guest for our 2026 Axé Capoeira Arizona Batizado e Troca de Corda.

Over the past 2 years Instrutor Ninja has been teaching his own classes in the Vancouver area and participating in many residency programs throughout the lower mainland. Although he’s been teaching for 2 years, he’s no stranger to capoeira, having started his training at the age of 6.

Instrutor Njnja has also represented Axé Capoeira Vancouver while competing and promoting capoeira globally.

A dedicated teacher and long-time member of the Axé Capoeira community, Professor Sombra has played an important role in developing students and promoting capoeira and Afro-Brazilian culture in Arizona. Over the years, he has also proudly represented Axé Capoeira Arizona on the global stage, traveling to participate, compete, and teach at capoeira events around the world.

With over 20 years of experience, his commitment to training, pushing limits and showing up for his team continues to inspire capoeiristas both locally and internationally.
