The Story of My Mobile Fitness

Fitness has always been important to Marla. She was very athletic in high school and attended college on track (shot and discus) and volleyball scholarships. As an adult Marla has participated on several championship volleyball teams and has ridden in the El Tour de Tucson more than seven times. She has done this on two-wheeled, three-wheeled and even a four-wheeled bike. She has also competed in sprint triathlons. Marla has been an ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2002. She cares deeply about fitness for everyone.

She has worked with clients of all ages, from children and teenagers to seniors, the disabled, breast cancer survivors, stroke victims, individuals with cerebral palsy, those with autism and those recovering from debilitating injuries. Many of these clients have gone on to participate in El Tour de Tucson, Race for the Cure, Mud Runs and other events. Marla also enjoys being an indoor cycling and line dance instructor.

Recently Marla has discovered the benefits of line dancing - from increasing balance and coordination to the ability of dance to reduce depression and anxiety, because line dancing is known to produce more dopamine and seratonin than any other physical activity. It is impossible to be anxious while dancing because the brain is focused on rhythm, counting and movement.

Dancing has also been shown to increase the effectiveness of the immune system by benefitting the lympatic system. Walking and Dancing, specifically line dance, burns off roughly the same amount of calories. But with Marla teaching, Line Dancing is a lot more fun!
