Whether you’re pitching a tent under the wide-open desert sky, sleeping in the back of your van or SUV, or bunking down in one of Douglas’s historic motels, where you stay is part of the experience.

Not all November gravel looks the same.

Douglas, Arizona, offers a different kind of experience.

Dry roads. Big skies. Mild temperatures. Endless miles of rugged desert gravel.

If you’re looking to extend your riding season, the borderlands are waiting.

Over the past couple of years, Lajamari has made some of the raddest trophies and gifts you've ever seen.

Beyond stoked to partner with this local Douglas-based company.

Most people picture Arizona as endless heat.

Douglas is different.

Sitting around 4,000 feet in elevation between the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts, the BorderLands Gravel region brings crisp mornings, wide-open skies, rugged mountains, and long stretches of remote gravel roads that feel untouched by time.

By mid-November, riders can roll out in arm warmers at sunrise and finish the day under perfect desert riding temperatures.

This isn’t the Arizona most people expect.

We know that many gravel races start with a countdown.

Before the race begins, BorderLands Gravel starts with an international parade lap through Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.

And yes … we’re doing it again this year.

Before riders disappear into the remoteness of the borderlands, we roll together through a community that has long been connected to Douglas through culture, history, family, and everyday life.

Riders from both sides of the border ride together.

This is BorderLands Gravel.

Some sponsors just put their logo on a banner.

Others actually show up and become part of the experience.

Always fun to have a weekend update from race director, Mike Miller ... while out riding gravel.
