Action packed weekend!! 💥

Over the weekend we took a team up to compete for . The boys came ready! Everybody made weight and prepared to the fullest of their abilities, unfortunately, we fell short in results.

Sean lost a unanimous decision in a super hard fought semi final matchup, Alejandro dropped a split decision in his semi final match and Francisco suffered a cut in the third round of the final, that ultimately stopped a fight he was controlling.

Each one of these guys has been training for a year or less and are competing with athletes who have a lifetime of training experience. And not just competing, pushing each of them to their limits.

We couldn’t be more proud of our athletes and all of the sacrifices they have made to represent not only themselves but the gym. Each of them want it back and are already working on improving and getting better.

This was only our second open but the team behind the scenes is getting stronger and we are looking to compete more throughout the year in one off events as well.

Every time we engage in these types of events, we are overwhelmed by the support of other athletes and coaches. We are happy to be taking part of a community of gyms that, although are competing against each other, openly welcome and help the newer communities stick around. We look forward to expanding these relationships!

Thank you to the competitors for making our athletes better, thank you to the coaches who showed us respect and hospitality and thank you to the open for having us.

Huge congratulations to and his amazing performance this weekend, representing Tucson Muay Thai in its striking competition debut at . David had a hard match against a well prepared opponent and captain of team Tahiti. This match truly embodied what you want to see in two competitors trying to make a name. All action, tight guards, no fouls, no commands from the ref, just pure understanding of the job needing to be done. Ultimately the decision didn’t go our way but the expertise and experience learned, far outweighs the marking of a loss. We couldn’t be more proud of the work, dedication and heart David put into this camp and his performance 🙏

We started with three competitors and through injury and some difficulties, we ended up with one competing. As a small gym, we stress to you that this was a TEAM effort and we are super proud of and .0s for dedicating themselves to the madness that is training and balancing that with life. Sometimes we don’t get the reward of performing but the work isn’t lost, everybody got better 💪

Thank you for all the sparring partners, coaches and input the entire gym put into this. We are really proud of how everybody came together in support and help for this. It really means a lot, not just to the gym, but to the athletes.

We have a whole squad preparing for the next one!! Stay tuned…

Congratulations to !! Second competition is in the books! Henry had five matches total, placing second in his division and third in absolute. Finishing two of his opponents and several near finishes in the match with the winner, ultimately dropping a decision by points (5-4). We are extremely proud of all the hard work, dedication and attention to detail Henry continues to pour into his craft. Not to mention time…

We took a team to the this weekend for some no-gi action! All of our competitors did extremely well and we couldn’t be more proud! , , and all medaled in their respective divisions. taking the silver, going up TWO weight divisions brought home bronze and won his matches to win gold in his division. .chops and had really technical matches that didn’t go our way but still showed unbelievable potential and the hard work and mental fortitude it takes to compete, leading up to this event.

Also a huge thank you to for his continued guidance in this space as well as his dedication to the team and the arts 🙏

We are so proud of our team. And our gym. We thank each and every one of you who believe in us and support us on our journey.
