Old Pueblo Open Recap
A day or two late due to over the weekend, but better late than never!
Competed up a weight class from my usual and had a decent day. Got on the podium with 3rd 🥉place - gotta work on making it first!
My second match was my best, with an early snap down and progression through dominant positions. Lots of points, though no submission despite 3-4 setups and a couple attempts - my opponent ate his wheaties and decided to dog it out.
First match was a loss by points, a close match. Had a couple good submission attempts, but was unable to finish the job or win positions.
Thank you to and for a great day of coaching. Great work to my teammates Sun Sun and Aidan .520 who competed also. I’m stoked to see you guys get on the mats for a challenge, and I’m glad we did it boys.

SPARTAN RACE RECAP
1 week ago my client Brian and I travelled to the distant land of New Jersey for the hardest race we have ever done.
35 Degrees. Raining the ENTIRE time. A foot of mud on the course, built on a ski resort. The hills were endless, and the cold made many obstacles SUPER challenging, and the terrain was treacherous.
Brian crushed his Spartan Sprint, a 5K with 20 obstacles. I am very proud of his efforts to improve his running, agility, and mobility - he crushed this race after lots of rehabbing an old knee injury. Very proud to be able to help you Brian, and thank you for challenging us to do this race!
I completed a Spartan Beast, a 21K with 30 obstacles. I knew I was in trouble when everyone else rolled up to the start line in jackets and pants. I crushed the first 10 or so miles easily, and felt decently warm - I got dangerously COLD 🥶🥶🥶on the last few miles. Luckily I found a volunteer to give me a poncho to keep the wind off me for the last portion of the race. (See my very sad A-frame cargo net photo)
Here’s to the next event! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
