Join us in congratulating Ari Hernandez! 👏

The SAAS Wildcats (Varsity Division) and Arizona Storm (Women’s Division) athlete has been named to the inaugural Positive Athlete and USA Basketball Foundation All-American Team.

A student at Atrisco Heritage Academy, Ari was selected as one of only 10 high school basketball student-athletes nationwide from more than 1,500 nominations. The honor recognizes her character, service, leadership, resilience and positive impact beyond the court.

Born with arthrogryposis, Ari found confidence and community through wheelchair basketball and is building a bright athletic and academic future through the sport. She is also the youngest member of the inaugural All-American Team.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Ari! 🌟

Today we had a great group of students from the Doctor of physical therapy program at the University of Arizona volunteer to clean our sports wheelchair fleet! We’ve had a great group of physical therapy students participating and engaging all year in our Wheelchair Basketball and adaptive cycling programs while developing their profession!
Thank you volunteers!

It isn’t just the athletes themselves who benefit from inclusion in larger sporting events. It can also be beneficial for the community, nonprofit organizations and corporate sponsors. That was the message delivered during the first day of the National ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Symposium. Link in comments.
