Player Development Month wraps up with short‑game tips from our Tucson Golf Program founder, Landyn Lewis.

Tip 1: When chipping, keep a narrow stance and stand closer to the ball (about 2–3 club heads away).

Tip 2: Play the ball back in your stance and keep the shaft vertical, with your hands lower on the grip.

Tip 3: Swing with a smooth rhythm — equal backswing and follow‑through.

His reminder? “Every golfer can build confidence through simple, repeatable fundamentals that make the game more fun.”

Player Development Month continues with practice‑smart tips from our Director of Instruction, Justin Bubser.

Tip 1: Practice with a purpose — be intentional every time you train.

Tip 2: Mix it up — random practice helps you handle real‑course shots.

His reminder? Confidence comes from mastering the small things — “I’m passionate about helping golfers grow by breaking down the details and building a game they can trust under pressure.”

Tip 1: Swing from your shoulders. Create a smooth pendulum.

Wishing everyone a beautiful and safe Memorial Day from our teams across Tucson City Golf. 🇺🇸

Join us this Memorial Day at all Tucson City Golf Courses for our Farthest Golfer event benefiting Folds of Honor. Add a $10 buy‑in to your round, and all proceeds will support educational scholarships for the families of America’s fallen or disabled service members and first responders.

Though Memorial Day is usually a restricted holiday for Weekday Passholders, you’re invited to participate in this event.

During this event, each golfer will check in with the Golf Shop to confirm their course handicap and receive their target score (course par + handicap). When you reach your target score, note how far you made it on the sheet provided to you in the golf shop — for example, “18th hole, 150 yards out in the fairway.” This event operates on the honor system.

The top 3 Farthest Golfers at each location will receive foursomes to the Tucson City Golf course of their choice!

Not playing Monday? You can still support the cause through our donation link 🇺🇸 👉 https://secure.foldsofhonor.org/site/Donation2?df_id=5961&mfc_pref=T&5961.donation=form1
