This past weekend furnished sport of the finest order at the Copper City Classic. Your own Bisbee Black Sox took the field in four stout contests and came away with a noble record of three victories and one drawn match, having bested the Tucson Saguaros Vintage Baseball, the Tombstone Base Ball Club, and the Mesa Miners in gallant fashion.
In the final contest, the Black Sox met the formidable Bisbee Copper Queens Base Ball Club, and after seven innings of brave and spirited play, the match was called with the score even at ten runs apiece. Victory is ever a pleasing thing, yet there is a higher satisfaction still in crossing bats with one’s friends and worthy compatriots.
To all the clubs who made such splendid sport of the occasion, we offer three hearty cheers:

Step back in time and witness the grand old game in its purest form.
The 16th annual Copper City Classic returns to the historic grounds of Warren Ballpark for two fine days of base ball as it was played in the 1860s.
April 11–12, 2026
10 AM - 5 PM
Clubs from around Arizona shall take the field in spirited contest.

Join us in Chandler for the 3rd Annual Haymaker Fest, hosted by the Higley Haymakers — a full day of vintage base ball played by 1860s rules.
Good kranks and kind neighbors are invited to gather upon the green for old-time base ball, hearty fare, and Arizona sunshine. Bring a friend, claim a patch of grass, and enjoy baseball history brought to life in the East Valley.

Opening Day against the Mesa Miners and Copper State Vintage Base Ball Association opper State Vintage Base Ball Association Nine proved a stout commencement to the season. The field lay in prime condition, the air calm and steady, and the contest carried itself with proper vigor befitting the old game.
