Thanks to a partnership between Fiesta Bowl Charities, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and YMCA of Southern Arizona, an average, 65 kids will utilize the Fiesta Bowl Charities Community Resource Room daily. Empower Coalition has produced their signature event, the Tucson Beefsteak since 2016, raising more than $1.25MM benefiting Southern Arizona veterans and military families.

We are feeling SO lucky today! (Yes, we got the memo and know it's Friday the 13th.) But we are so truly grateful for the amazing community we live in and the Tucson Rotary that supports us!
A couple weeks ago this dedicated team of Rotarians showed up bright and early (on a Saturday) to get their hands super dirty at Triangle Y Ranch! They laid brick, pulled weeds, pruned trees, dug up the dirt and sweat. Repeat! (And we event caught them smiling during their toil.)
Thanks to this big-hearted bunch our campers will have an even more special place to make memories all summer long!

We don’t have enough adjectives to describe how insanely happy we are that you joined us for Healthy Kids Day! It was truly out of this world and that’s not just because of the giant telescopes that were there! Today- Kids went behind the scenes with firefighters, ZUMBAed with Wilbur the Wildcat, and danced with Dusty! They learned about poison prevention, performed life jacket relays, loved on rescue pups, made friends with a 🐢! They read books, spun the wheel, created masterpieces,played games and won prizes!
Thank you to ALL of our amazing partners who made this such a memorable day for all of us! And we have so much love for our Y Team who put this event on! We are already counting down for Healthy Kids Day next year.

Excitement is sprouting all over the Y thanks to our young gardeners! For the past two weeks our Y kids have been tending to their hanging garden. They are growing carrots, cantaloupe, grass and cabbage. The kids are also responsible for watering the plants every week.
You'll notice the kids in the photos are holding "seed bombs"! These dirt balls are made from wildflower seeds, soil, flour and water. After the seed bombs dry, the kids are tasked with finding a patch of dirt for them to grow! In a few weeks time, wildflowers will be springing up all over Tucson!
