I grew up fishing Parker Canyon Lake down by Sonoita AZ bordering Mexico.

This place is very special to my heart.

I was blown away how much water was in it spilling over the dam.

Never seen it this full and blossoming.

The fishing was epic!

Fall bite is on!

Gila River Adventure on my Bonafide fishing kayak.

What a cool desert oasis!

First time floating and fishing it.

It's an amazing fishery besides for all the trash which was depressing but the water and the land still retains beauty.

The fish were very green and very active.

Pretty much naked em on a flipping punch skirt and a spinnerbait.

2 of my favorites in the arsenal.

Can't never go wrong with a flipping bite when there's a lot of cover or stirring it up in the wind and current, Eddie's or brush piles.

Lower Verde River Adventure down below Horshoe Lake Dam Arizona.

First time down in this area. What an amazing place even though its scorching desert but pretty magical.

The water was very stained but lots of cover.

I felt pretty good about catching some fish so I tied on the tried and true black and blue brush hog and then had my favorite spinnerbait in bluegil color. It's my fave!

Anyway, I flipped into a hole in the grass and got a bite so I was was sure about catching something. So I take the kayak down the river and start throwing the spinnerbait on a rocky bank and bam! Fish on! Solid 2 and a half pounder. Real healthy chunky fish. It was on!

So I mozy on down the river flipping the brush hog again, flipped into the shade and bam! Another one for about 3 pounds. They kept getting bigger after that.

I had a lot of bites, missed and lost 3 at the kayak and ending up catching about 10 in total but right before the sun went down I threw into a tree and Bam! This solid 4 pounder nails the brush hog. Lol the fish pulled me around like no big deal and landed it. Right after that I threw into another hole and had a real big bite but didn't get a good hook set. It felt over 5 but we'll never know.

All in all it feels good to be back on the water soaking up some much needed sun and nature time in a cool desert oasis.

Feeling more alive and grateful for an adventure and just fishing.

I love to fish!

Looking forward to more adventures in Bonafide Kayak.

Had a good day on Arivaca.

The alagea bloom has receded and the water is cleaner.

The lake is down though and hasn't received much rain but a rain storm came through last week and helped clean the water.

Caught 6 and lost 2.

Biggest fish was 5+

There used to be a lot of big fish in Arivaca but someone mentioned that the tournaments are hammering the lake.

In my opinion these lakes are too small for tournaments. Over time they destroy the fishing by stressing the fish, in my opinion.

Either way its our duty to respect the land and take care of it.

Practice packing in and packing out all trash even if its not yours, clean it up and do.your part.

I clean trash everytime I go.

I want to preserve what we have.

Having lakes in the desert is a gift and privilege and deserves to be respected.

Respect for the Earth!

Much love!

Had a great day on Patagonia

Fishing jerkbaits and big Texas rigged worms is my go to right now as well as throwing a flipping tube and always keeping a top water frog or walking bait handy for some top water action.

Can't go wrong with a big worm in the middle of lazy summer day though!
