When Kelly's son told her he had found a gym that could guarantee she'd be able to get off the toilet as she got older, she decided to give Starting Strength Tulsa a try.
It may sound simple, but it's one of the most important goals of strength training. Squats build the strength needed for everyday life, from standing up out of a chair to climbing stairs, carrying groceries, and maintaining independence for years to come.
We love seeing our clients discover that getting stronger isn't just about the weight on the bar. It's about living life with confidence, capability, and freedom.
Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your experience with us.

Welcome Christy to the Starting Strength Tulsa family!
Christy is ready to get stronger, learn proper lifting technique, and rebuild her strength after 15 years away from the barbell. After realizing she wanted to strength train again, her fiancé encouraged her to start this journey, and we are excited to be part of it.
A proud dog mom to her two giant pups, Bear and Odin, and someone who values family deeply, Christy is bringing the right mindset into the gym. Her goal is simple: get stronger, move better, and conquer that first full deadlift.
She even has a goal of out lifting Christina😉
Welcome to the family, Christy. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish.

Strength training does more than build muscle. For women, it can improve cardiovascular health, support healthy blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, and help reduce the risk of heart disease. Combined with regular aerobic activity, strength training is one of the most powerful tools for building a stronger body and a healthier heart.
Your heart is a muscle too. Train it. Strengthen it. Protect it.
