Congratulations to VLT’s Owner/Director, and OK Charge Tulsa 15 National/18 Under Armour Head Coach, Kylie Johnson, for being named as an American Volleyball Coaches Association 30 Under 30 Award Winner for 2024!
According to the AVCA, the coaches selected for this award are club volleyball leaders (30 in total across the United States) that are passionate about ensuring that the club space continues to fuel growth and development in youth volleyball.
What an amazing accomplishment! 🙌🏽

We know tryout season can be a bit overwhelming… Our best advice?
- Tryout for multiple clubs and give yourself options!
- Research both the club you’re interested in AND the coaches for your age group across multiple clubs
- Attend pre-tryout warmups for the clubs you’re considering to get as much exposure as possible
- Eat well and get good sleep the days leading up to tryouts
- Show up, do your best, and remember to have fun playing this beautiful sport that you love!
- When choosing a team, go with your gut, and don’t let anyone pressure you into a decision
This is YOUR season, and there are so many great coaches across multiple clubs to choose from. Find the place that you feel will help you develop and grow, and trust that you know yourself best and will make the best decision for YOU.

If you have experienced any of these behaviors from coaches (whether they are your/your daughters coach directly or another coach you know) it is imperative that you report them to SafeSport immediately.
Check in with your kids. Notify another coach or the club director about a coach’s behavior if it is questionable, whether sexually, physically or emotionally. Make sure the coaches in their lives are not abusing their position of power.
