As you are planning your summer trip, be sure to prioritize swim lessons! Studies show that the majority of drownings happen in shallow water or near safety. It is so important for all ages to feel confident & safe in all bodies of water.
If you, or someone you know is interested in lessons, feel free to reach out! We travel to participants pool of choice, or partner with Philcrest Tennis Club for those in need of a pool!
We have already wrapped some lessons up and started new sessions, all while ensuring that Tulsans are ready for a safe aquatic summer! 🥽🛟

Meet your instructor - Megan Vann:
“From lifeguarding and swim lesson instruction at age 16 to becoming a Director of Aquatics, my love for the water has shaped my life and career. Born and raised in Tulsa, I’ve always been drawn to aquatic adventures—whether it’s scuba diving in new depths or enjoying laid-back lake days. When I’m not in or around the water, you’ll find me spending time with my three bulldogs, who keep life just as exciting on dry land!”

Meet your instructor:
Chesney is a Missouri native who moved to Tulsa in 2020. Aquatics was introduced to her after graduating from university when she took on the director role for the Tandy YMCA. She quickly fell in love with the water, while gaining her certifications in LG and LGI and teaching water acclimation. When Chesney is not teaching lessons, she is either training for her next hobby - Ironman and mud runs or hanging out with her three bulldogs and enjoying a good bowl of spaghetti.
'Swim lessons were not readily available to me in my youth. Living in a rural area in Southern Missouri, created a divide in aquatic resources. Swimming was a luxury during the summertime; enjoying the river or lake was not something my family entertained until my teenage years. Learning the developmental strokes, floating and confidence in the water came to me in my early twenties - and I wish it had been sooner. Since teaching lessons and experiencing the enjoyment of working with youth and building confidence and security within the water, I have found a genuine passion. Eliminating the stigma of fear around the water, is something that I hope to carry on for many more years to come."

HELLO! First off, we want to start off by thanking all of our followers of Learn to Swim 918. We created this page back in 2022, not realizing how fast our business would take off by just word of mouth! The community of Tulsa and surrounding cities have continuously filled up our books each summer and kept us busy - eliminating the need of advertising. Although, we do not have our own photos of previous lessons, we do want to encourage all previous participants that have utilized Learn to Swim 918, to leave comments or photos from the past years. With this being said, we do not, nor can we operate out of businesses to teach lessons; we ask participants to provide an aquatic resource prior to scheduling lessons! We are so excited for the summer of '25 and anticipate this being our busiest and most fulfilled summer of teaching the vital skills that comes with learning how to swim!
Disclaimer: We do not teach Infant Safety Rescue (ISR). We do understand that there is a limited resource here in Tulsa that teaches these lessons, however we are not certified and do not fill capable to operate outside of our scope. Preferred age of teaching is 4 years/+.
We will teach younger ages based on participants attention within the water, but as well as their acclimation. Lessons are curated to teach participants how to float on their back, communicate when assistance is needed and teach a front crawl that provides an exit.
Please feel free to reach out for questions regarding lessons, as well as booking lessons this summer!
