Did you know Tulsa Country Club is home to more than 45 different tree species? Some of these beautiful trees are over 100 years old and a part of the original design. Throughout the property, you’ll find an incredible variety of trees that have become part of the club’s history and character. Follow along as we highlight & share fun facts about a few of our favorites! 🌳🌲💕

Sweetgum Tree
The Sweetgum is one of the most recognizable trees around the clubhouse. It’s known for its distinctive star-shaped leaves and sticky sap, as well as its spiky seed balls that fall throughout the year.

Bald Cypress
Several Bald Cypress trees can be found throughout the course. Their unique round seed balls grow among the foliage before falling to the ground. These hardy trees can thrive in a wide variety of environments, including both wet and dry conditions.

Chinese Pistache
This is Golf Course Superintendent Brady Finton’s favorite tree! The Chinese Pistache is admired for its beautiful seasonal color. Traditionally, parts of the tree have been used in herbal medicine, and its leaves produce a distinctive aroma when crushed.

Lacebark Elm
Our most famous tree stands proudly between Holes 16 and 17 and is a favorite shady stop for our beverage carts. This remarkable Lacebark Elm is officially recognized by the State of Oklahoma and is the largest certified Lacebark Elm in the state, earning an impressive 208 points.

October Glory Maple
October Glory Maple trees can be found throughout the property, adding beautiful color to the landscape. In the fall, their foliage transforms into vibrant shades of red, creating a stunning backdrop across the course. Their flowers attract pollinators, while their seeds provide an important food source for birds and small mammals.

Loblolly Pine
Towering between 60 and 80 feet tall, the Loblolly Pines create a beautiful backdrop along Hole 18 and are among the tallest trees on the property.

Eastern Redbud
Oklahoma’s state tree, the Eastern Redbud, has long been valued for both its beauty and medicinal uses. Before modern medicine, its roots and bark were used to treat a variety of ailments. Native Americans used tea made from boiled Eastern Redbud bark as a remedy for whooping cough. Each spring, its vibrant pink blossoms bring a beautiful splash of color to the course.

Red Oak
One of our largest Red Oaks is located near the Halfway House and has become another favorite gathering spot for members looking to relax in the shade after a few holes.
