With great pride and tremendous gratitude, we officially close the 2nd ever Tulsa Rensei Taikai! It was such an awesome experience, and special thanks to all the wonderful who joined us. Let’s use what we learned and work hard to improve between now and 2028 when we’ll do it all over again!

Hokubei Budogu is honored to be selected as the official vendor for the 2026 Tulsa Rensei Taikai.
April 24–26, 2026.

This will be our first time featuring in the Southwest Kendo and Iaido Federation region, and we are very much looking forward to meeting new kendo friends and reconnecting with our SWKIF community.

We will be working closely with the taikai organizers to help make this a great weekend of kendo.

Last week, we welcomed our sponsor Sensei from Kanagawa, Japan to Tulsa for our annual Fall Gasshuku/Seminar. It was a wonderful success, and we hope everyone who came gained something to take home and work on this year. Iwanami Sensei and Abe Sensei will return again in 2026 to check on all of us—so let’s work hard to improve in the meantime!
