These proposed updates to the BOK Center and Arvest Convention Center will allow Tulsa to continue being a sports destination market leader and will position the city to be competitive in bidding for major sports events like NCAA Championships, Big 12 Wrestling Championship, SEC Gymnastics Championship, USA Gymnastics Championship as well as countless other national and regional sporting events. These events not only provide entertainment options for residents of the Tulsa region but also bring visitors that spend money in our economy and support local jobs.
Simply put, the economic impact from these events enhances the quality of life of Tulsans via the services provided to residents through sales tax generation at restaurants, retail shops, convenience stores, attractions, etc.
Tulsa is the Sports Capital of Mid-America. Help us keep that way!
BOK Center hasnāt undergone a major renovation since opening in 2008. As venues across the region invest in improvements, itās time to look at whatās next for Tulsa.
From upgraded seating and a new scoreboard to modernized restrooms and reimagined spaces, potential renovations would help BOK Center keep pace with regional competition, attract major concerts and sporting events, and amplify every guest experience.
On November 3, Tulsa voters will consider a Hotel Guest Tax increase to help fund improvements at BOK Center and Arvest Convention Center. The tax is paid only by hotel, motel and short-term rental guests.
