When I go to the salon I never have to make a decision. I sit in the chair and the stylist who happens to own the salon, and who also has become a good friend takes over. If I tried to direct her, one, she'd probably boot me out of the chair and two, I'd be way out of my league. I do know that the results would not be as good and I would stress about it before, during and after.

The comparisons are endless. If I hire an experienced professional for any job it is time for me to step aside and let them do what they do. I think of it as trust them or fire them.

I absolutely love working in the service industry. It feeds my soul. When I can make a stressful time easier for my clients I am in the sweet spot. Whether it is listening between the lines of what my buying client wants and turning over stones to find it or helping a busy client with a demanding schedule get through the inspection and remediation process I see that all as part of my job.

Signing a listing, negotiating a purchase, holding open houses and marketing a home are all important and necessary, but the real art of the work lies in meeting the varying demands specific to each person and each transaction.
