The Orchard South Wrestling Club

If you kno me.. won’t be no parties or ribbon cutting ….just business as usual. Practice at 7:30pm. 2511 Fire Road (Suite B8). New waivers,registration forms and USA cards are required. Parent’s signatures are mandatory NEW RATES: $30/practice $200/month $250/10session punch card 🌳

As the summer ends so does the end of the beginning. After turning down an opportunity for a high school head coach position I decided it was best to bet on myself. No money no room no mats but I knew I was on to something. With life being a whirlwind and not being able to make it up to the ol Orchard daily to help him, I remembered a comment Uncle Vern made when we were in our prime in HS. He said “If Jimmy don’t go wrestle internationally like I kno he can, he’ll prolly wind up club coaching” He seen the vision long ago. Once my coaching journey started I went back to him remembering that comment he manifested. I said I have a few kids down working with me they need an identity and I’m Orchard to my heart. What do you think about me starting Orchard South but I need your blessing. With his burly giggle and smirk he says well what are you waiting for?

I went back home knowing I had prolly the biggest shoes to fill in SJ. But I was prepared and didn’t kno what God had in store for me. Working two other jobs and tryna keep this club afloat for the past 10 years has turned into a life’s work and
Between those four walls this club has taught and influenced hundreds of kids. Some of the clubs you see in SJ right now is because of the influence that this club has had in some small way or another. Alot of SJ greats these past few years all have some sort of tie to this room. This place has been home to so many kids and has helped them be confident in themselves, helped them explore opportunities all the way to the college level and shape them to well rounded grounded better people.

For years I been saying we gotta eventually move its growing. Didn’t think I was prepare for bigger but again God had another plan. He sent me lookin for a new place and I found it back in Feb. working our ass off the prepare the new spot for this new generation of South Kids. Emptying that room was bitter sweet. But now secrets out…Now We have a new House of the South. 🌳

Hs/Ms camp cancelled this year.

Boys showed out on Saturday at the showcase. Eli Glover with a 14-2MD win while Tristan Rosemeyer wins at 5-2OT Thriller. Bryce Paley wrestled tough but had a tough loss. Either way it’s back to work. All in all we showed wat we goin on down here at the bottom of the South🌳
