If you've ever thought about joining the team, or even if you just enjoyed Whip It, come hang out and see what we're all about!
Derby is a lovely supportive, and inclusive community.
Don't know how to skate? No problem! We will teach you! Don't want to skate? No problem! We need off-skates officials and refs!!

August 24: Come by Druid City Brewing Company for a chill hangout to chat with the team and ask questions

And/or come by the rink on the 26th to test out some skates and see how you feel on the rink! No contact, we promise ;) we provide helmets and pads as long as supplies last, and you can bring your own skates or rent them for $5

Happy birthday to the legendary Divides by Zero! Our resident scoring and math whiz, Div/0 excels in any NSO position she tries. Plus, she’s lent all kinds of skills to the league behind the scenes - everything from a bit of metalworking for our annual pendants to running tables at events!

Today we’re wishing a very happy birthday to Globe Slaughter! Globe has been with DCD for many years now, and we’re so glad to have her in between her globetrotting adventures! You may have seen Globe skating at one of our events this summer or officiating, but what you don’t see is all her work behind the scenes with Training and Membership Committees that keeps our league running.

Globe, we’re so thankful for all you do for the league, and we hope you’re having an amazing birthday! 🎉🥳

Make sure you wish a happy birthday to Million Dollar Brand today! You may have spotted Julie serving as our relentless Head NSO or bringing her quick scoreboard skills to our bouts and scrimmages, but did you know she’s also a DCD fundraising powerhouse? Not to mention, you won’t see her leaving a derby event before every single thing is taken care of and left in better condition than we found it.

Julie, thank you for your tireless hard work and the sacrifices you make for our league! We hope your birthday is as fantastic as you are! 🎉🥳

Some fun times are coming up!
Thanks to some phenomenal fundraising during our skate-a-thon we are having a home game this summer! Be sure to be there on August 22nd!

Annual on and off skate recruitment is coming up right after that on August 24 (off skates) and 26th (on skates). We really need off-skates officials this year so if you've ever thought about joining, or at least want to know what we're all about, come by! We are open-gender and 18+. No experience needed!

And finally, we have an away game in Montgomery on September 12th. Wish us luck!

Order a Firehouse Barbecue butt supporting DCD! Ask your nearest DCD member or message us to get your order in by the deadline: this Thursday, June 25!

Butt pickup will be July 2 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Druid City Brewing Company- just in time for your holiday weekend!

Join us in sending happy birthday wishes to the one and only Chill Bill! Although Bill has retired from his storied tenure as our Head Non-Skating Official, you’ll still catch him bringing his expertise to officiating bouts and scrimmages. His presence as an official is unmatched, and you won’t find a bout running behind with Bill jam timing!
