The Orange County Iowa Club ("OCIC") is affiliated with the University of Iowa Alumni Association. But the fun doesn’t stop there.
OCIC is open to any alumni, fans, or transplants (of any age) from the Hawkeye State. For those of you unfamiliar with the full array of OCIC activities, every new school year begins with football game watches throughout the fall, capped off with (hopefully) a bowl game watch. The OCIC also hosts a joint bowling match with other local Big 10 alumni clubs in Feb/Mar timeframe and the annual Wiscons
in-Iowa “Cheesehead Classic” golf tournament in June. Also, be sure to look for the Iowa-Wisconsin softball match – tentatively set for November. We are also open to hosting new activities if there is interest in doing so (museum visits, USS Iowa Battleship, social hours, picnics, etc.). Please let us know your suggestions or interests. The OCIC also works hard to fund a scholarship to one student from Orange County each year (with matching funds from the UIAA). There are alumni volunteers who attend college fairs throughout the fall at local high schools who know that an Iowa experience cannot be beat and we want to make it easier for one deserving student making that long trip from Orange County. Your membership dues and other fundraisers, including raffles at several of the game watches and merchandise sales, make this all possible. All we ask for is a voluntary, nominal $10.00 per person annual membership fee. Please contact us if you are interested in donating for this worthy cause.
