Elevate your training this summer with Jason and the rest of our faculty at our Summer Dance Intensive, designed for dancers ages 9 & up. The program runs August 10–11 and August 13–14, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 8:45 pm each evening. Tuition for the full intensive is $400($360 if paid in full by 7/15/26). For dancers with busy summer schedules, single day passes are available for $125, and individual class passes can be purchased for $65. Please note that day and class passes are subject to availability and will only be offered as space allows. Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot!

–Meet Jason–

Jason Martin is a dancer, choreographer, and educator based in sunny San Diego, CA. Originally from the Bay Area, he began dancing at Dance Direction under the mentorship of Lisa Clark Schmeling before earning his BFA in Dance Performance from Chapman University.
Jason has appeared in a variety of tv, film, music video and live performances that include: The Oscars, Ryan Gosling, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Ben Platt, Nike, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Prom a Netflix Original, Poppy International Tour, Cirque du Soleil, Universal Studios Japan and more. Currently, Jason is a proud member of Entity Contemporary Dance Company.
As a choreographer and teacher, Jason is passionate about creating a nurturing space for his students to explore their artistry. His choreography can be seen across various convention and competition circuits, as well as choreography festivals and showcases. He specializes in a variety of genres including contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and modern dance. His love for teaching has taken him around the globe, from the US to Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Hong Kong, inspiring eager dancers at every stop.

–Meet Tessa–

Tessa Bella is a Los Angeles-based professional dancer & Actor with childhood & Adult experience on the industry’s biggest stages. With a professional career that launched at just 8 years old, Tessa has built a reputation as one of the most versatile commercial dancers working today.
From an early age, Tessa proved she had what it takes to compete at the highest level. Her foundation was built through intensive technique training in Orange County’s competitive programs and under the mentorship of Robert Duran — a relationship she credits as the cornerstone of her career. “Robert taught me how to be a bookable dancer,” Tessa says, a philosophy that has carried her from her earliest jobs straight through to the industry’s most iconic stages.
Her performance credits speak for themselves. Tessa has graced the stage at some of television’s most prestigious award shows, including the Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA), Kids’ Choice Sports (KCS), and the BET Awards, working alongside powerhouse artists like Justin Bieber, Lil Mama, Pharrell, and many more. She has also performed with the LA Clippers Spirit, bringing the same high-energy precision to the court that she brings to the concert stage.

–Meet Robert–

Robert Duran is a visionary in the dance world, known for his innovative style, magnetic stage presence, and unwavering passion for the art of movement. His dynamic choreography and refined teaching techniques have made him one of the most in-demand master instructors at both national and international dance conventions.
As a proud member of the American Guild of Variety Artists, Robert has graced stages as a featured performer in numerous productions for The Walt Disney Company, captivating audiences with his artistry and professionalism. His choreography has been showcased in original productions across New York, Canada, Lake Tahoe, and on Carnival Cruise Lines, earning acclaim for its creativity and impact.
Robert is the founding director and choreographer of The Dance Place, a premier competitive dance school in California that he led for 25 years after establishing it in 1993. Under his leadership, the school became known for producing technically strong, artistically expressive dancers who thrive in high-level competition.

–Meet Brooke–
Brooke Averi found herself on stage at just two-years old, training at her mother’s dance studio before studying classical and commercial dance at Orange County School of the Arts. There she graduated as valedictorian of the Commercial Dance Department. She later earned a BA in Dance Media with a concentration in audio production from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. During her senior year, she booked her dream job as a Radio City Rockette, dancing at Radio City Music Hall for eight seasons and appearing in events including the Tony Awards, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and The New York Spectacular, directed and choreographed by Mia Michaels. Her Off-Broadway credits include Kristine in A Chorus Line, Marilla Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables, Women on Fire (Dance Captain), and Beulah Land (Associate Choreographer).

After decades on stage, Brooke transitioned into live event production, producing major projects across New York for companies and events including Snapchat Inc., TIME 100, Nike, Tribeca Film Festival and New York Fashion Week. Her work in New York brought her overseas to join the TAIT Team in Saudi Arabia, where she worked as the Program Manager for four Art and Music Festivals, RSH, SoundStorm, Ballad Beast and XP Music Features.

We love seeing just how much our icons have grown this season, and we can’t wait to see them take the stage one last time at nationals 🙌🙌

–Meet Mark–

Mark Tullen is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Southern California. His performance and choreography credits include SB19’s Simula at Wakas World Tour, Head In The Clouds Festival featuring Rich Brian, ATARASHII GAKKO!, and bbno$, as well as appearances on America’s Got Talent and NCT Dream’s Starstruck. He has also appeared in projects featuring artists such as LISA, Tyla, Coi Leray, and Omar Apollo.

Beyond the stage, Mark is a passionate educator who has taught at Movement Lifestyle, Playground LA, and Offstage by GRV, while leading workshops across the country. His teaching emphasizes musicality, performance, intention, and confidence, empowering dancers to discover their unique artistic voice. With experience spanning choreography, performance, direction, and mentorship, Mark brings both industry insight and an energetic, supportive environment to every class he teaches.
