Day 10 — Your Optic Screws Can Move

🔩 WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU CHECKED YOUR OPTIC?

A red dot or scope can look perfectly fine while the mounting hardware is beginning to loosen.

Periodically check:

• Mounting screws
• Mount or rings
• Battery condition
• Lens cleanliness
• Zero

Important: Don’t just crank screws tighter. Use the optic/mount manufacturer’s specified torque.

A properly mounted optic is only useful if it stays properly mounted.

Day 9 — Don’t Forget Your Magazines
🧰 YOUR MAGAZINES NEED MAINTENANCE TOO

Your fi***rm can be spotless and still have reliability problems from a dirty or damaged magazine.

Every so often, check your magazines for:

• Dirt and debris inside the body
• Damaged or bent feed lips
• Weak or damaged springs
• Cracked followers or baseplates
• Rust or corrosion

Don’t automatically blame the gun when the magazine may be the problem.

Number your magazines, inspect them regularly, and if one repeatedly causes malfunctions—pull it from service.

Cleaning removes carbon, fouling and contamination.

Lubrication reduces friction and protects moving surfaces.

Day 7 — The 60-Second Carry Gun Check

⏱️ TAKE 60 SECONDS AND CHECK YOUR CARRY GUN

Once a week, give your everyday carry setup a quick inspection:

✓ Optic secure
✓ Optic lens clear
✓ Weapon light functioning
✓ No visible rust or corrosion
✓ Magazine seated properly
✓ No unusual damage or wear

It takes about a minute.

A 60-second inspection can catch a problem before the day you actually need your equipment.

Day 6 — Don’t Blame the Gun Yet

💡 HAVING FEEDING PROBLEMS? CHECK THE MAGAZINE.

Before assuming the fi***rm is broken, inspect the magazine.

Damaged feed lips, dirt, worn springs or other magazine issues can cause feeding problems.

Easy shop tip: Number your magazines.

If the same malfunction keeps happening with Magazine #3, you’ve got a pretty good suspect.
