⚠️ BEGINNER & STACYC CLASSES - further explained...
We are getting a ton of questions about the beginner classes and Stacyc so here are additional answers to make sure that the logic is clear to everyone.

The beginner classes are meant to give kids who are new to RACING a safer class to run as they develop their race skills. There may be kids in the beginner class that have been riding for a while, but not racing. The class is there to give experience in the race environment. There is no way for us to know what child is going to be a more skilled racer prior to race day.
If a child shows that their riding and racing ability is way above the others in the class, we will pull them to make sure that the rest of the riders have a safe and fair class to run.
If a child wins 2 beginner class races, we will pull them as they have shown their ability to perform in a race.
⚠️ WHAT DETERMINES "FIRST YEAR OF RACING"?
If your child just started racing within the last year = can run beginner class.
Be aware that if they are skilled above the other beginning racers they might get pulled out of the class for skill. If they win a beginner class race 2x they will be pulled - yay for winning!
⚠️ WHAT IF MY KID HAS BEEN RACING BUT IS GOING TO BE ON A NEW SIZE BIKE AT DURHAMTOWN?
Your child is not new to racing and therefore cannot run beginner classes. We understand that the bike size, gearing, clutch, etc might be different, but every racer has to adjust to moving up to a bigger bike as they age out of classes.
⚠️ CAN THEY RUN BEGINNER + OTHER CLASSES
Yes. Racers can run Beginner + Age Group or Open Classes. They are NOT allowed to run Beginner and Advanced. By allowing Beginner racers to run the points eligible classes as well, they are able to work towards a spot at banquet.
⚠️ AWARDS - Beginner and Stacyc
Beginner and Stacyc will get trackside race trophies for 1st-3rd place.
Stacyc will also get a participation medallion for 4th place and down.
Beginner Class racers are able to come to banquet and receive recognition to celebrate their first year of racing (Kayla reserves the right to give out a participation/celebration trophy to beginner class participants who decide to come to the banquet). They will NOT be series points eligible or receive a large banquet trophy.
All Stacyc classes are points eligible.
⚠️ STACYC ONLY
12" Stacyc classes will run on the Stacyc Track across the street from the PeeWee track. They will race BOTH of their motos during intermission.
16"-20" Stacyc classes will run on the PeeWee track for 2 laps.
Stacyc is meant to be used as a catch all for smaller e-Bikes. Non-Stacyc brands may also run the Stacyc classes as long as they meet the wheel size and battery requirement.
