Whynot Motorsports Park Fall Classic is one of our favorite races every year.
We honestly didn't know what to expect as we haven't been in the super in a month or so.
We put our standard setup in the car and Rooster was flying out of the gate.
When the track would slick off we struggled.
We made the race friday night but missed on Saturday. I think I finally figured out the problem Saturday. But track condition were different. So we really didnt get to see if our changes helped.
In the b main I noticed it was going to be hard to make it to the front with everyone on the bottom. Sooooo. I told her hell with it run the top. Now there wasn't a top at this point. BUT. Our biggest weakness is not know how to run the top.
So we burn our chance to make the show and for 10 laps Rooster ran the top getting better at it each lap. We still have a ton to learn but it was a good learning night.
Over all im ecstatic at how we did. We are both really tired so the car ain't getting washed till tomorrow. Lol

Have give a big shout out to Jesus. Saturday morning I was lost as to why the car wasn't letting her turn in when it slicked off. I tried everything I knew. I honestly just prayed. Jesus please send someone to help me. Dont care who it is. I just need help. So shortly after that I talked with Bradley and I think he really helped me understand I was looking at the car balance wrong. So first answer. Then it gets crazier, Raeann Rose Gibbs and I ride up to use the bathroom. As we get on the 4 wheeler. Another crew member rides up next us and asked Rae if she told me how to adjust the car to fix our problem. Raes like nope. I guess I forgot. Then gives me a detailed run down on the same issue that Bradley and I went over earlier. Answered pray x 2. So thank you Jesus. I was listening.

Today 13 year old Raeann "Rooster" Gibbs Racing is running with those same drivers she has looked up to and doing a great job at it too!

Last min, Wednesday morning Rooster and I decided to swap motors and head over to Buckshot and run with the Dirt Outlaws Racing Series. Everything went smooth up till Saturday lol. We get to the track and cars has a lr flat in the trailer. Then the generator decides it needs rebuilt before it's going to run. Get ready and warming up car. Upper radiator hose decides to leak. Some how we had a spare in the trailer. We finally get set up and head out for hotlaps. She comes in and tells me we are out of gear. No Rae we have a carburetor issue. So we mess with the carburetor. Still breaking up in qualifying. Work on it some more. Get ready to head to heat race. Starter goes out
At this point I have completely lost my s**t. Im sure everyone in the pits knew from it. Cussing , bitching, hell I even blamed the track at this point. Lmao. Finally get that fixed sand tires. Carb is better but not great. The whole time the car is still working fairly good. So we make some minor changes to the car. Change jets added some fuel and head out for 30 laps. Car seemed to run better. Setup seemed good, and Rooster made it up from 12th to 9th. Got home at 2:30. That was a hard day. Hopefully we got all out bad luck out of the way before we head over to whynot with the super car next week.

Good news we made the feature last night.
Bad news someone in front of us ran out of talent. Rooster had no where to go.

Well we went back and forth between
Duck river or Senoia Raceway. I felt senoia was the better chance to beat the rain and race. Raeann Rose Gibbs now was dead set against that decision. As many know, our last couple times there we have smoked the wall running the wall in 3 and 4.
Hotlap qualifying
As one would expect, Rooster was extremely conservative ran the bottom and qualified 16th out of 25 car. I knew she was going to make sure she didnt embarrass herself again. Lol
I had the car pretty loose incase she did run the wall. I made some changes to the car I felt were needed.
Race
Everything click for us. Rooster drove from 16th up to 8th. Car had incredible speed entering the corner. Couple of tire marks but no extra damage. She made some great passes and learned a great amount.
2 thing
1) first thing she said. ( well we don't have to rebuild the front end this week.) Lmao
2) I asked her what she would have changed. ( she said nothing. car was perfect)
If only she would have drove it in qualifying. But i understand. We have had a lot of bad luck lately.
I some time forget how much I miss watching her tear through the field. I absolutely had a blast last night. But we have to pay our dues and learn.
