Nebraska Speed Week Recap: The Nebraska speed week, part of the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series was not one of our best showings. Some would call it bad luck while others may say “that’s racin” but instead, I/we’re going to look at it as a challenge and opportunity for growth. I want to thank everyone that assisted us over the crazy, hectic 4 days of racing.
Here’s a quick recap: We started at Kam Raceway and had problems with both the engine power and the driver underperforming. Next, we headed to Jefferson County Speedway, a track we're familiar with, for two days. On the first night, we still had issues getting top-end power but got that resolved for day 3. There were large car counts and we did not perform well in our heats so off to the B’s we went. In the first B-main, a couple cars got together in front of me. I was able to miss them but in the process of doing that, my chain broke tearing up the birdcage, chain guide plate and the gear. We did not have enough time to fix everything before the second B so we were done for the night. The final night of was at Belleville Speedway. We chased setup on the car all night and just couldn’t get it to work and to make matters even worse in the A-main for A class my battery died.
Thank you to all our sponsors and partners for helping me do what I love.
