Many of you already know this, but it's that time - e.g., time for ME to retire! My move to Glen Ellen is LONG overdue, and I am truly looking forward to settling into my new (and not-quite-finished-remodeling) home! Let alone becoming a grandma (GiGi) later this year! If you'd like to come by to say "buh-bye" or "hasta luego", I will be onsite after Becky finishes her clients' workouts Saturday, July 30, from 1-2 p.m.! And I may just have some nibbles for y'all! (Depending on if I get my act together - so much to do while moving out!)
I am going to miss so many of you, and hope you keep in touch! The SuperSlow Zone does NOT have a presence anywhere in Northern California, so below I've listed alternatives you might consider if you'd like to keep up a similar program. This does NOT serve as a recommendation for any of them, so be sure to do your research!
Feel free to contact me at either my cell - (408) 888-2495 - or email - [email protected] - if you have any questions, etc. Our SuperSlow Zone email addresses will no longer work, so do let me know if you need to reach out to either Becky or Julie and I'll have them contact you. From a SuperSlow perspective, this'll be the last email you'll be receiving from me!

- In Fremont, Legacy Strength Training was formerly a SuperSlow studio, owned by the PT who I originally trained with. They were purchased from his widow, and are located within the Washington Hospital system. I was able to speak with Bea (their key trainer) before, and they have limited hours due to staffing (it's a bit far for me to assist other than occasionally, I'm afraid) to Monday/Tuesday/Thursday mornings. Pricing is pretty good - initial consultation's free, and they run around $40-45/session with packages of 10 or 20 sessions. They were hard to connect with, but their phone 510-794-9672 or -9688 / website:

- Set For Strength (John Fricker), San Jose. http://www.SetForStrength.com (note: site under development); phone: (408) 578-9663. - Los Gatos Strength, Home | One on One Personal Strength Fitness Trainer. Pricing is $60-65/session (package v. per-session), with some discount for couples. I have a bit of information re: their bio from Suzanne & Patrick (Patrick is the key trainer): "He started at Alive High Intensity Strength Training at Alive! Fitness Studio 87043 (Marie's note: I used to refer to them all the time/they were in the Menlo Park area but the owner & his wife retired a couple of years back), where he got certified, and did Super Slow with clients old and young. Patrick then decided to open his own studio in Los Gatos (2016). He is the only trainer for now, his brother subs when needed. He still does the Super Slow method, and other High Intensity Training methods (depending on client preference). He has worked with clients that have Parkinsons Disease, Cancer, Scoliosis, etc. Most of his existing clients have been with him since day one. We always consider the clients safety, and comfort. We listen to them, change up the workout (add more weight, etc.) when needed or requested, track their progress, advise them to fully recover for more beneficial results, etc."
- I hear of various individual trainers who are out there who claim to do the "slow" protocol - but over & over have seen it's, well, not the way WE do it. I'm sure if you research using search terms like "slow fitness" or "20 minute workout" you'll find others - but I'll be damned if SuperSlow Zone isn't the best!
Peace be to all - and remember, in exercise, failure is a GOOD thing!
